Setting up your business for success on social media

  • Create socials!
    Website (SquareSpace), Instagram, Facebook Page, Yelp, Google reviews, even business cards! Don’t put all your eggs in one basket. What if Instagram was gone tomorrow?

  • Begin your newsletter NOW (MailChimp). Client retention, newsletters, engaging your audience.

  • Plan content ahead of time. Later app. What is your brand? What emotion/personality does it convey?


Social Media

  • Run your socials, don't let your socials run you.

  • Personal touch online.

  • Consistency, post smart not hard. Quality over quantity. Again, Later app. Weekly posting schedule, consistent story updates.

  • Generate clicks. Bring your audience to YOUR platform.

  • Hashtags/tags, giveaways, engagement.

  • Collaborate!

Editing

  • VSCO!
    Practice edits: One, Two

  • Add exposure, contrast, sharpness, and modify colors if necessary, but don’t overdo it.

  • Always expose for skin!

  • Oranges, reds, and skin tone.

  • Avoid distractions in background while shooting and edit things out in post process to draw attention to your subject. Example.
